Notes: Thomas and Sarah Maiden Hay, 29 and 30, have been married for ten years and have had five children (Mary and Andrew Jackson died). Robert Lyle is 8, William is 4 and John is 2. Sarah is pregnant with Minerva Jane, to be born in October. While Thomas’ family is close by, Sarah’s family has moved to Scott County (formed in 1820 out of parts of Jefferson and other counties) with Sarah’s two brothers and sister Mary. Thomas’ parents, William and Jane Taylor Hay, 67 and 65, apparently have daughter Annie Getty living with them with her husband and two young children. Thomas’ sister Betsy Wells also lives in Saluda, but Bella Davidson died in 1826 and her husband moved to Scott County too.
