Notes: Joseph Howsmon (25) and Elizabeth Gregory (23) were married three years ago, daughter Sarah was born in 1838, and Elizabeth is pregnant with Jehiel. Curiously, her brother John Gregory is not listed as living with them; perhaps he joins them soon.

Joseph’s mother Abigail Britton Howsmon died in 1831, and his father William (57) is supposedly married -- William Perry documented William Howsmon’s marriage to Frances Wrenn in 1833, and also the birth of their son Jacob who has died (1834-1835), but curiously, Frances is not listed. Living with William is his son James (20), adopted daughter Loraine (<6), and daughter Martha (18). John Britton is probably a 2nd+ cousin of Abigail Britton Howsmon’s; he is the John Britton who married Abigail Britton and William Howsmon’s oldest daughter Letticia in a double-ring ceremony with Isaac Cook on 5/8/1820 -- the same Isaac Cook with whom Elizabeth Gregory lived with as a child after she was orphaned at age 6! All of Joseph's siblings live nearby in Range County, and Elizabeth's siblings are still nearby in Fayette County.
