The last ten years must have been hard on Sarah -- most of her children and granchildren have moved to McLean, IL, with more to go soon. For having ten children, and fifty-six grandchildren, Sarah ended up with few of them living near by. Son James and his family moved seven years ago, and daughter Nancy Ogden and her family moved to McLean nine years ago to join their sister Elizabeth Stretch who moved there 10 years ago. And Sarah’s two Gilmore sons-in-law, William and John, also moved to McLean with her four grandchildren, just four years ago. Only Sarah’s four Gregory grandchildren are still in Fayette (Elizabeth married Joseph Howsmon three years ago, and Annis and Mary Jane just married this year, so only grandson John is still living with Adley Gregory) -- but Elizabeth, Annis and John move to McLean IL too in six years. The only other grandchildren still in Ohio are the three orphans of Peter, living in Cadiz (Harrison County) with their mother and step-father. Son Jesse, 38 also moved to McLean nine years ago, but it is not clear (especially without the individual enumeration) where he is today; he will marry Mary Ann Hadley in two years in Iowa. Interestingly, the Gilmore brothers were from Pickaway County, OH -- where our Britton line was from.
